"Five Star Hotel, close to everything" - Wayne, MI Sept. 20, 2009

One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in. We stayed in room 218. What a room! It was huge!! King bed, huge whirlpool tub in room area, also a regular bathtub/shower in bathroom, large bathroom sink and counter area separate from the bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, ceiling fan, desk area. This room was across from the elevator but room was quiet. The vending machine, ice machine and guest laundry room were just around the corner. We did not hear any noise from this area. But we did check in late at 2:30 a.m. So not sure if noise from this area would bother you. Our room was EXTREMELY clean. It looked like everything was brand new. The continental breakfeast was good. (hot waffles, cereals, yogurt, fruit, pastries, bagels, juice, milk and coffee). The area where the breakfast was set up was very clean and there was a nice size seating area with a TV to watch news. Complimentary USA Today paper. Heated indoor swimming pool and spa. Children 18 and under stay free in parents' room

This hotel is close to everything! Mackinaw Theatre is adjacent. Mackinac Island Ferry Docks, 2 blks. Mackinaw Crossings shopping is adjacent. Central Avenue shopping,1 blk. Fort Michilimackinac, 4 blks. Thunder Falls Waterpark, 6 blks. Mackinar Bridge, 4 blks. Hiking and biking trail is adjacent. Once you get to this hotel you could leave your car and walk everywhere.

Hotel staff was very nice. Before we left we asked the manager if the hotel was new since it was so clean and everything appeared new. He said no, that they keep on top of everything at all times.

"Did not recieve what was promised; did not clean room!" - Battle Creek, MI- Sept. 18, 2009

I called directly to this hotel and made reservations for a group of six people. We were put in 2 rooms joined by a door. I was told that the one room had a QUEEN size sofa bed. I happen to carry a roll-up tape measure and compared the size of it to the size of the QUEEN size beds in the other room; it definitely was a DOUBLE. My husband and I slept very uncomfortably on this small bed for two nights. When we returned for the evening only one side of our "suite" was cleaned. When I called the front desk, they offered to have someone come up and clean it then but why should we be inconvenienced as we were already in for the night. When asked if they would compensate me for not having cleaned the room I was told NO. I then called corporate to see if this was handled properly. They notified the hotel and the mgr. had two weeks to contact me and did not attempt to do so until after that time. I was then refunded 50% of what I had paid for the two nights. I would have been satisfied to have had a much smaller amount deducted from my bill upon checkout. Everything else was very nice there, we would stay there again. Just give me what I am promised and clean the room as an expected service.

"Comfortable" - USA- August 30, 2009

There are three things I seek in a hotel: customer service rate 5/5, cleanliness 4.80/5 (room clean just need deep surface cleaning of tub), and comfort 4.5/5. The mattresses were very comfortable, slept like a dream 4.8/5.0. There are not any real comfortable sitting chairs--good for a short sit. The hotel ground were well manicured. The pool has very sharp surfaced cement (cannot walk on in bare feet), the pool's water too warm, and the hot tub nearly scalding hot (both could be lowered to save money (overall the pool 3/5). The exercise room had decent hotel type of equipment (could use a fan in the room). The lighting poor in the pool area. Overall, the pool was fairly clean, could use new pool paint and/or more frequent surface scrubbing? This hotel is located up Central Avenue, away from the hustle and bustle of the town which is nice. The continental breakfast is simple, filling, and sufficient. The hotel coffee was great tasting. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, pleasant (unlike many hotesl) and for the most part accomodating. I would stay there again for brief stays only, i.e. 1-2 night stays. Thank you to the Baymont Staff ,we can see that you do work hard to assure the c's. The price was more than reasonable. B & C's pizza was recommended by the hotel and it was wonderful and reasonably priced. (They deliver). I would ask to not be put in a room where the service trucks parked, had awakened me in the a.m.s. We will return to the Baymont for simple vacations. I would prefer being given a hotel survey card as opposed to writing on a public forum. These are merely my opinions and suggestions. I recommend charging more and rennovating along with detail to what I have mentioned. The maid was going to skip our room for cleaning stated, "You don't want me to clearn your room do you since you will be her for several nights." I said, "Yes, please clean our room." (We had our dog with us--think maybe she was afraid of dogs? He is very loving and cleaner than most kids! ). Finally, she did clean our room, thank you! (Should not have to feel impositioning to the hotel staff).

"An excellent value for the price " - Michigan - August 29, 2009

Our family, including our dog, stayed for 2 nights. We enjoyed having very clean rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was top notch with the staff keeping everything filled up.

"Perfect Budget Hotel in Mackinaw City" - Massachuetts - Aug. 25, 2009

My family stayed in Mackinaw city for 2 days in order to visit Mackinac Island. Mackinac Island is great for family biking by the way. No cars are allowed and the entire island is only 8 miles around (and 2 1/2 miles across).

The Baymont is very clean and quite convenient to the town and ferries. We walked to the ferries (the closest is about 3 tiny blocks from the hotel).

Although Baymont is a budget chain, this hotel is new and extremely well kept so that rooms/public areas are quite comfortable. I've stayed in many chains in this price range, and the Mackinaw City Baymont is one of the top two. True, the breakfast area is too small (pretty typical) but it's better than many.

The strongest point of the hotel is the staff who are extremely friendly - even for friendly Michigan, they stand out - no weak links.

Everything went well with our visit. We arrived late as scheduled and were given a very nice room. Our stay was effortless and very pleasant. When my wife lost her cellphone in the room, we alerted the hotel and they mailed it to our home where it was waiting when we returned from our trip.
