We've stayed at this hotel on 3 different trips - and experience the same great service every time. This hotel is extremely clean and well kept. It was obvious to us that the ownership takes great pride in serving their guests. Quality employees - always wearing a smile and willing to help.

My wife and I spent 2 enjoyable nights at the Baymont in Mackinaw City. We had a spacious room with 2 queen beds and the windows open so we could have fresh air while sleeping. The property is in a good location within walking distance of the main Mackinaw City shopping and dining area but away from the traffic generated by these establishments. There is a nice indoor pool with hot tub and exercise room along with wireless internet access. The staff is very helpful and friendly and more than willing to help you with the purchase various tour activities. The owner and his wife take a very active role in making sure their customers are happy. The property is relatively new and very well maintained. There were 2 bus tour groups at the motel while we were there. Realizing that there might be a problem with the continental breakfast we asked the front desk when would be a good time to come down and they told us when each group would be eating so we could schedule our breakfast. The continental breakfast had cereal. Bagels toast, waffle’s, toaster French toast, muffins, fruit, and a few other items. Needless to say if we return to Mackinaw City we know where we will stay.

My husband and I stayed at Baymont Inn and Suites at the beginning of the Summer season in Mackinaw City. We booked early (late-April) and received a great rate on a suite. The hotel has plenty of FREE parking (a lot of the hotels by the water charge for parking) and a lot of extras that you would not expect from an economy hotel. There were 2 large groups at the hotel and the front desk made a point of telling us when the groups would be finished with breakfast so we would not be swamped in the breakfast area. Taking their advice we went down for breakfast everyday at around 9:00 and we had the area to ourselves. The waffles were excellent (piping hot in 2 1/2 minutes) and there were so many other choices that we chose a different thing each day. Housekeeping did an excellent job cleaning our room (often before 12:00) and the front desk clerk was very helpful. This is a great place to just park and walk. The ferry dock is a quick five minute walk (avoid the parking mess) and the main drag is 2 minutes away. We have found our choice for staying in Mackinaw City.

There are some chains and local operators that just get it right. Baymont in Mackinaw City is one of those places. We arrived very early in the morning because we needed to give them notice we were not going to be able to stay the second night we had reserved. That issue went without a hitch and they had a room cleaned up and ready and let us check in. That was really nice as we would not need to worry about the luggage being in the vehicle when we went over to the island later that morning. The room was clean, nice sized. The location by I75 could be better, but noise was not a problem and it was within walking distance of the bridge and related attractions. Breakfast was pretty good, make your own waffles, breads, sweets, cereal and basic fruits. The person kept an eye on the area, keeping it cleaned and stocked. Baymont was a good choice and we may try them in other cities given how well the Inn was run in Mackinaw City."Wonderful Hospitality " - Northern California - October 28, 2009
My husband and I stayed at the Baymont Inn with our son, his wife and 2 smail children the last few days the hotel was open for the season. The owners were so gracious, helpful, informative and relaxed; they helped make our stay very comfortable. Even though they were preparing to close the hotel for winter, the owners were friendly and offered suggestions regarding our trip over to the island, were patient as we microwaved potatoes in the evening and simply helped to make our stay very comfortable. I would certainly suggest this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.
